  • The JRH Academy is a subscription website that provides top level education for dog trainers of all levels. Whether you’re just starting out or have years of experience, the Academy contains 40+ hours of workshops and lectures that cater for all abilities. It teaches everything from the fundamental handling techniques to masters level theory.  

  • Yes! All Academy courses are designed to provide honest, science-backed information for trainers to apply in practice. You’ll also receive free training resources for you and your clients.

    We also have monthly Q&As where many of the questions surround the business of dog training - including costing, class and workshop set ups, and advice on how to deal with tricky clients.  

  • The Academy content is ever-growing, but there are currently 40+ hours of lectures, workshops, and tutorials ready and waiting for you inside. You can learn at your own pace, whenever suits you.

    You’ll find the content is split into categories, so you can search for something specific if you want to, or use the Recently Added playlist to see the most recent videos.  

  • The JRH Academy doesn’t subscribe to any specific label as we have found labels to be reductionist and create problems. The JRH Academy is about empowering trainers with the ability to assess dogs accurately, so that the communication system we teach them is as kind and reward based as possible, but also creates structure and boundaries.

    Jo teaches dogs with a philosophy that subscribes to four clear pillars: Clarity, Time, Efficacy and Kindness. Jo personally doesn’t use or teach the use of the collar or prong collar, but would never state she has used nothing aversive with a dog.

  • Yes! Academy membership is a monthly subscription, so you can cancel at any time.

  • The Academy is hosted online and is a mix of live, unedited, and edited content. Members will also be invited to join any in-person workshops that Jo hosts.

  • You’ll have access to the online courses for as long as you’re an Academy member, and the free training resources are downloadable PDFs - so you can use those anytime, anywhere.

  • Yes! We have a growing online members' club that is hosted via the Community tab inside the Academy. It’s a great space to connect with other dog trainers, ask questions, request content, and support one another!
